You can preorder GTA 6 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Standard is listed at US$79.99 and Ultimate at US$99.99 on the checked US console stores. Before paying, choose the correct platform, decide between digital and a boxed download code, then check which edition and purchase offers your order includes.
Rockstar’s preorder announcement opened orders on June 25, 2026 and lists the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Store and other retailers. The announced playable console release is November 19. An open preorder listing is not a promise of early play.
The decisions to make before checkout
| Decision | What to check |
|---|---|
| Platform | PS5 or Xbox Series X|S on the actual product listing |
| Edition | Standard base game, or Ultimate with its content package |
| Format | Digital order, or Standard retail box with a download code and no disc |
| Account | The account that will own and redeem the purchase |
| Region | Store currency, code conditions and account-region compatibility |
| Offer | Exact bonus eligibility, purchase deadline and any separate redemption step |
Our where-to-buy guide focuses on the purchase channels. Start there if you already know which edition you want and need to decide where the transaction should happen. A familiar box design is not a substitute for checking the seller, platform and product description.
Choose the edition around its contents
Standard includes the game. Ultimate includes the game and its additional content package; Rockstar Support also allows Standard owners to buy the Ultimate upgrade separately. That makes the Standard-versus-Ultimate comparison a better decision tool than treating the more expensive option as mandatory.
The Ultimate contents page lists that package in detail. The base game and an upgrade are different products, so confirm you are not buying only an add-on when you intend to buy the game. Boxed Standard owners must first redeem their game code before upgrading.

Read the offers separately from the edition name
The Vintage Vice City Pack accompanies qualifying purchases, including digital orders before November 20, 2026. Its contents and physical-preorder treatment are explained in the preorder-bonus guide. It is not the same thing as the Ultimate upgrade, and it is not a complete description of every benefit in a digital store offer.
A qualifying digital purchase also has a GTA+ membership offer with platform-specific redemption rules. On PlayStation, the published terms warn that the membership continues as a paid subscription unless canceled. Read the claim screen before accepting it. The price guide separates the game’s purchase price from extras and ongoing subscription charges.
A boxed copy still needs a download
Rockstar describes the boxed Standard version as a code in a box, with no game disc. Ordering it therefore does not remove the need for a console download. It also makes the arrival and redemption of the code relevant to your preload plans.
Rockstar’s purchase-support FAQ directs third-party delivery and purchase questions to the retailer that handled the order. The physical release is available from November 12 to support preloading, but actual shipping time depends on the selected service. Retain the order confirmation rather than assuming an early shipping date guarantees early arrival.
What to do after ordering
Verify the product in your order history, keep the receipt and check the November 12 preload arrangements. Use the launch-times guide for playable access; the download opening and the unlock question are separate. There is no need to buy the game again merely because the download has not appeared before its announced window.
Questions readers ask
Do I need Ultimate to receive the Vintage Vice City Pack?
No. It is an eligible-purchase offer that can accompany Standard. Check the format and deadline terms for your order.
Can I preorder a confirmed PC version?
The official launch stores and platform information checked here announce PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, not a PC preorder. Do not treat an unofficial placeholder as an announcement.
Who handles an order problem?
Start with the store or retailer that processed the transaction. Rockstar’s support FAQ links the relevant platform and Rockstar Store purchase-support routes.
