GTA 6 Standard costs $79.99 in the US Xbox Store; Ultimate costs $99.99 and adds vehicles, equipment, customization options and side activities. Both include the game. Standard owners can buy the Ultimate upgrade later, which makes the decision less urgent than the long bonus list might suggest.
The main question is whether those extras are worth the difference to you. The early-purchase Vintage Vice City Pack and the qualifying digital GTA+ offer are separate incentives that can accompany Standard too.

Standard is the straightforward story purchase
Choose Standard if your priority is playing Jason and Lucia's campaign at the lower entry price. It is available digitally and in a retail box containing a download code. The boxed version has no game disc.
Ultimate is digital. A boxed Standard buyer can still purchase its upgrade after redeeming the base-game code. Check account and code-region conditions before buying from an overseas retailer.
What the Ultimate package adds
The extras cover more than a single starter car. The published package includes:
- Vehicles: the '95 Grotti Cheetah, '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy with its garage, Shitzu Squalo, Jason's Safehouse Vehicles and the Ganado Retro Build.
- Weapons and appearance: Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers, personalized weapon variants, Vice City Styles and Goodtime Gear.
- Businesses: Rideout Customs, One-Eyed Willie's, Sara's Unisex Salon, Stock 305 and Electric Fang Tattoo.
- Activities: the PTT Youngin$ Compound and Classic Car Collection.
The content is threaded through the story and becomes available with progression. The purchase should not be read as a promise that every listed vehicle, service and activity is accessible immediately after starting a new game.
The Vintage pack can come with either edition
The Vintage Vice City Pack includes the '55 Vapid Stanier and a garage, outfits, hairstyles and a weapon pattern. Digital preorders and purchases before November 20, 2026 qualify under the published offer. Physical preorder codes also include the pack.
That digital deadline includes the announced launch day. It is a different condition from buying Ultimate, so compare the edition contents and the purchase offer separately.
Read the GTA+ redemption terms for your platform
Qualifying digital purchases include one month of GTA+, but the claim process differs.
- PlayStation: the purchase must be made before November 20, 2026, and the month claimed through the GTA+ product page by March 31, 2027. The offer covers eligible new, returning and existing members, with one redemption per account in the listed countries.
- Xbox: the store specifies redemption within 180 days of placing the preorder. Check the console notification and the Store's Offers & credits area.
On PlayStation, the membership renews at the regular monthly price after the included month unless cancelled. Review the subscription screen when claiming it. This is a separate membership benefit, not the price of accessing GTA 6's advertised single-player story.
Allow time for the download
Preload is scheduled for local midnight on November 12, ahead of the November 19 launch. Retail copies are expected to begin shipping or become available for collection on November 12; their codes can be redeemed to prepare the download. A delivery estimate and a playable unlock time are different parts of the launch plan.
Make the choice around the extras you want
Standard is the sensible starting point if none of the named bonuses matters much to you. The separate upgrade leaves room to change your mind. Ultimate is easier to justify when specific vehicles, customization businesses or activities already appeal to you.
