Kinda Funny's preview account says GTA 6's single-player experience will not include real-money purchases inside the game. The outlet also reports a negative answer when it asked about generative AI in development.
GamingBolt's August 28 report identifies the questions and who asked them: Andy Cortez raised in-game spending with Rockstar North's Rob Nelson, while Greg Miller asked about generative AI. Keeping those questions attached to the answers is essential because the broad phrase "no monetization" can otherwise imply much more than the conversation establishes.
Story purchases and paid editions are different
The reported answer concerns using real money to buy something within the single-player game. It does not make GTA 6 free or erase the difference between its paid Standard and Ultimate editions.
The US PlayStation listing offers those editions and an Ultimate upgrade. It also carries an optional in-game purchases label. That store label does not explain a specific story-mode transaction, so it should not be used to invent one or to silently dismiss the preview answer.
For buyers, the actionable distinction is between paying for a game package and being asked to spend additional real money while playing the story. Our edition comparison covers the known package differences.
The AI question was about generative AI
The reported question concerns generative AI used in making the game. It is not a claim that pedestrians, traffic or opponents lack game AI. Those systems describe how characters and vehicles behave during play, which is a different use of the term.
A brief interview answer also does not provide a technical inventory of every development tool. The useful claim is the one Kinda Funny reports having put to Nelson.
The online question was left unanswered
In the same account, Rockstar declined to discuss the next GTA Online in detail. Extending the story-mode answer to future multiplayer purchases would therefore go beyond the reported conversation.
