Songs featured in GTA 6's Extended Look saw sharp increases in Spotify activity after the presentation. Figures Spotify shared with EDM.com show growth in both plays and playlist additions, two different signs of listeners returning to music they heard in the video.
EDM.com's September 2 report gives the following global figures:
| Song | Increase in streams | Increase in playlist additions |
|---|---|---|
| Inner Light, Elderbrook and Bob Moses | 1,070% | 4,155% |
| But I Think It's a Dream, Captain & Tennille | 130,730% | 885,400% |
| People Are People, Depeche Mode | 190% | 700% |
Streams and playlist additions answer different questions
A stream records listening activity. Adding a song to a playlist suggests someone wants to keep it within reach, but that addition is not another play. The two percentage columns should therefore stay separate.
Nor do the percentages identify which song had the most listeners overall. A track starting with a small amount of activity can post a much larger increase than one already played frequently.
A 1,070% increase means the later value is 11.7 times the original value. It does not mean the track gained 1,070 streams. Without the underlying totals, these percentages cannot be converted into new listeners or royalty revenue.
Music travels beyond the showcase
The report places Inner Light in the presentation's closing scene. A memorable placement gives listeners a specific moment to return to when they search for the song, extending the experience beyond the video itself.
These are reported changes around the showcase, not a complete public dataset with absolute totals and a fully specified comparison period. They support the immediate listening surge without establishing how long it will last.
The tracks' use in promotion also should not be treated as a complete radio-station list for the released game. For the video that introduced this selection, see the Extended Look guide.
