Cal Hampton

Cal Hampton is Jason Duval's friend and another associate of Brian Heder in GTA 6. He spends his time listening to Coast Guard radio traffic, drinking beer and following online conspiracies. Jason wants his circumstances to change; Cal seems content to stay where he is.

Home, radio traffic and online suspicion

Cal's official introduction makes his outlook clear through his suspicions about birds and the people running the country. His preferred refuge is home, where private browser tabs and radio communications give him plenty to occupy his attention. The humor comes from the gap between his alarm about the wider world and his comfort with his own routine.

His connection to Brian places him in the same social circle as Jason in the Leonida Keys. The profile establishes that association without assigning Cal a particular job in the smuggling operation.

Information passed through Brian's circle

In An Extended Look, the couple repeat Cal's suggestion that Brian's former cellmate may have worked in Dominican intelligence. The exchange makes Cal an information source for Jason, while leaving the claim itself unverified.

Rockstar's profile gives Cal an interest in information, but it does not give him a hacking ability or a role planning robberies. Comparisons with Lester from GTA V go beyond the character details released so far.
