Contributing

The contribution process is being prepared alongside the public source release. These are the standards it will follow.

Evidence contributions

A useful location correction needs the proposed place or viewpoint, a public source URL, what the source visibly establishes and a confidence level that does not overstate the evidence. Claims based only on proximity, memory or repeated community lore are not enough.

Data standards

  • Use stable, public source links and identify the publisher.
  • Separate an official appearance reference from a community-estimated placement.
  • Mark missing coordinates as unknown; do not substitute zero.
  • Do not infer roads, boundaries or names from nearby landmarks.
  • Include attribution and rights information for contributed material.

What comes next

When a public contribution channel, repository and code license are ready, this page will be updated with the verified locations and review workflow. Until then, it intentionally does not direct contributors to an unpublished repository.
