Changelog

A concise record of public-facing changes to the atlas and its evidence model.

· v0.4.0 · Public site release

Standalone static open-source app package

The public app package is now deployable without GTA6State private infrastructure, Payload CMS, a database or server-only environment variables.

Shipped

  • Kept the public repository scoped to the Atlas app, project pages, bundled local data and generated static assets only.
  • Removed Payload CMS requirements from the public package: no PAYLOAD_URL, PAYLOAD_PUBLIC_URL or PAYLOAD_STATIC_TOKEN are needed.
  • Removed server API routes from the public package so the app can build as a static site and deploy from dist/ on a generic static host.
  • Replaced build-time CMS catalogue loading with a bundled local regional catalogue covering the six documented regions.
  • Kept GTADB-derived placement labels APPROXIMATE and unknown/low-evidence coverage UNKNOWN rather than fabricating missing source data.
  • Updated README and release documentation to describe the independent deployment path directly.

Verification

  • A clean app-only build was run with PAYLOAD_URL, PAYLOAD_PUBLIC_URL, PAYLOAD_STATIC_TOKEN, SITE_URL and SITE_NAME unset.
  • The resulting dist/ output is static and contains no server/entry.mjs.
  • Static preview browser QA verifies desktop and mobile open in Explore first, then open the map fullscreen at 100%.

· v0.3.1 · Public site release

Security policy, Dependabot cleanup and release notes

The open-source app package now includes a project-specific security policy, detailed release notes and refreshed development dependencies for the first public source drop.

Shipped

  • Added a SECURITY.md policy for supported versions, private vulnerability reporting and project scope.
  • Resolved the low-severity Dependabot alert for esbuild by updating the direct tsx dependency so the lockfile uses esbuild 0.28.2 instead of the vulnerable 0.27.x line.
  • Resolved the low-severity Dependabot alert for @eslint/plugin-kit by updating direct ESLint packages so the lockfile uses @eslint/plugin-kit 0.4.1 instead of 0.2.8.
  • Expanded release notes so each release lists the actual corrections, scope and verification instead of sending readers back to commits.
  • Kept the release as a packaging/security maintenance update; Atlas evidence boundaries, GTADB attribution and APPROXIMATE / UNKNOWN labels are unchanged.

Verification

  • pnpm audit reports zero vulnerabilities for the app-only repository.
  • Lint, typecheck and unit tests are rerun after the dependency refresh.

· v0.3.0 · Public site release

Explore-first app, corrected fullscreen map and analytics

The standalone app now opens directly into Explore 3D, while the Map button opens a full-screen atlas with a true 100% fit, current position and click-to-travel.

Shipped

  • Changed /gta6-leonida-atlas/app so visitors land in Explore 3D first, with the map hidden until the Map control is explicitly opened.
  • Forced the Map control to open one fullscreen atlas module instead of a secondary embedded explorer or half-height mobile panel.
  • Corrected hidden-dialog map measurement so first open now reports 100% fitted view instead of inherited 300%, 88% or stale zoom values.
  • Added a visible current-position marker, heading label and GTADB-frame coordinates, then wired map clicks/taps to travel directly to the selected point.
  • Retained deterministic 2D-to-3D coordinate conversion so map travel does not recenter or rescale documented GTADB placements arbitrarily.
  • Integrated Google tag G-YMBZ44B01J into the standalone app, Atlas project pages and shared site layout through one reusable analytics component.
  • Completed the western low-evidence panel as a subdued UNKNOWN / APPROXIMATE continuation, with texture and water/land atmosphere but no invented confirmed GTA VI roads or landmarks.

Verification

  • Lint, typecheck and unit tests are run before release.
  • Atlas Playwright coverage verifies Explore-first entry, fullscreen Map, mobile drawer behavior and map travel.

· v0.2.0 · Public site release

Data-derived Leonida basemap and project pages

The old schematic map was replaced by an original, generalized basemap derived from pinned GTADB / Map GTA community source material.

Shipped

  • Added the public project landing route /gta6-leonida-atlas and standalone app route /gta6-leonida-atlas/app.
  • Moved the legacy /tools/street-leonida entry to permanent redirects so old links arrive at the new Atlas project or app deep links.
  • Added About, Documentation, Credits, Contributing, Changelog and Licenses pages for open-source readiness.
  • Replaced the schematic field map with an original generalized basemap derived from pinned GTADB / Map GTA source tiles, recolored and simplified for the Atlas interface.
  • Rendered 2,198 GTADB catalogue entries and separated positioned, unpositioned, supported and uncertain states in the UI.
  • Added source/evidence copy throughout the map: GTADB revision, CC BY 4.0 attribution, approximate placement warnings and UNKNOWN labels for low-evidence areas.

Verification

  • Local build generated the Atlas project pages and standalone app routes.
  • HTTPS checks verify new routes, basemap asset delivery and legacy redirects.

· v0.1.0 · Public site release

Street Leonida visual reconstruction foundation

The first Atlas foundation upgraded Street Leonida from a simple tool into a source-led 3D reconstruction with distinct regional identities.

Shipped

  • Improved subtropical lighting with warmer sun, humid atmospheric haze, deeper distance falloff and restrained post-processing.
  • Added region-specific material treatment for asphalt, sand, concrete, stucco, glass, metal, water and vegetation so surfaces no longer read as flat placeholders.
  • Strengthened Vice City silhouettes with Art Deco rhythm, pastel hotels, skyline massing, beachfront water and palm-lined boulevard language.
  • Separated regional identity for Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga through water color, vegetation density, relief, road roughness and building typologies.
  • Reworked landmark-facing architecture with clearer façades, balconies, roof equipment, podiums and secondary signage while keeping infill visually subordinate.
  • Replaced old square vehicle props with more believable road-scale silhouettes and traffic dressing.
  • Kept 2D map and 3D world aligned on the established GTADB coordinate transform, with unsupported areas retained as APPROXIMATE / UNKNOWN.

Verification

  • Manual desktop and mobile visual QA covered multiple regions.
  • Unit coverage protects coordinates, map travel, rendering contracts and source-bound uncertainty labels.

Release status

The public source release remains in preparation, so these are website releases rather than GitHub releases. Future entries will continue to describe shipped changes rather than an uncommitted roadmap.
