Real Dimez

Bae-Luxe and Roxy perform as Real Dimez in GTA 6. The rap duo are signed to Only Raw Records, bringing a long friendship, an online audience and an earlier hit to the label run by Dre'Quan Priest and Boobie Ike.

Friends before the breakthrough

The two have known each other since high school. Their shared background includes shaking down local dealers, followed by rap releases and a strong social-media presence. Music and online attention have become ways to turn that experience into an income.

An early single with local rapper DWNPLY gave their career a breakthrough. DWNPLY is credited as their collaborator on that record, while Bae-Luxe and Roxy are the members of Real Dimez.

Five years later, another chance at a hit

The official biography places five years and considerable trouble between their early success and the Only Raw Records deal. It leaves the single unnamed and does not attach a calendar year to that fictional history. Their current recording opportunity is a chance to repeat an earlier success, rather than their first attempt to find an audience.

The signing also advances Dre'Quan's ambitions beyond arranging acts for Boobie's strip club. Boobie has a studio and a particular investment in the label's future. The duo, the aspiring music executive and his business partner all have a reason to want the next release to work.

Two recognizable performers

Rockstar presents their history together, but the official images distinguish the individual artists. Bae-Luxe wears her hair in braids and is on the right in the shared studio image. Roxy has curly hair, wears jewelry spelling her name and stands to the left. A separate car image shows Roxy beside Dre'Quan.

The music and the audience on screen

Onlookers film the pair dancing on a car's hood, while the recording image gives each member a microphone and pop filter.

Dazed reports that the duo's journey can be followed through viral posts on the game's social media.
